The
Crystal Coast Unity Church Women’s Group present the
Brady Birthing Center with 40 fleece baby blankets. Birthing
Center nurse, Robin Mobley (center), accepted the blankets
on behalf of Carteret General Hospital.
The
first blanket was presented to Madison Lehmenn, one day
old, along with her mom Nicole, brother Connor and grandma,
Connie Black. Crystal Coast Unity Woman's Group goal is
to provide blankets for every baby born in the Brady Birthing
Center. (Last year there were over 700)
The
group meets every other week to enjoy the camaraderie and
enjoy creating something of service to the community. Each
blankets includes a tag which states “Made with Love,
Given with Blessings”.
The
group hopes to find funding to continue this outreach service.
The first blankets were made with personal donations and
a gift from the family of Susan Stewart.
